Capital Markets
Research

The Research Pillar develops students' ability to evaluate investment opportunities through rigorous fundamental analysis. Students engage the full lifecycle of equity research, from initial screening and idea generation to formal investment memorandums and polished stock pitch presentations.

Each year, a select team has the opportunity to present at the CFA Annual Forecast Dinner, compete in the CFA Research Challenge, and present to alumni and industry professionals.

Simulation Phase: Active

The SMIF pillar is the CMC's most ambitious long-term initiative. Students manage a simulated portfolio using institutional-grade Bloomberg Terminal tools, the same systems used by global buy-side asset managers.

Using Bloomberg's PRTU portfolio administration function, students manage simulated capital with real market data, real position limits, and real compliance constraints. This is not a paper trading website. It is a fully institutional simulation environment.
