The UBCO Capital Markets Club is being built by a small, deliberate group of students and one faculty advisor, each contributing to a different part of the foundation before the club opens to the broader student body in Fall 2026.

[ FOUNDING MEMBERS — ]

Tayo Ilori

President & Founder

Originated the concept for the CMC and leads its overall strategic direction. Responsible for faculty and external stakeholder relationships, governance framework, and fund mandate. Authored the SMIF Policy Framework and the original Concept Notes that defined the club's roadmap.

Jayden Ngu

Co-Founder · Research & Strategy

Co-authored the SMIF Policy Framework. Led deep research into institutional SMIF models at Queen's, McGill, and other leading Canadian universities. Developed the 24-month transition roadmap and Bloomberg infrastructure strategy.

[ DEVELOPMENT TEAM — ]

Esteban Gardiner

Website & Digital · Investment Templates

Leads the club's digital presence and investment research infrastructure. Building the CMC's website and developing standardized templates for Investment Memorandums and Stock Pitch presentations used by analysts.

Prabhnoor Samra

Training & Research

Developing the club's training curriculum and structured learning materials. Building the fall training schedule, sourcing certification resources (Bloomberg BMC, Wall Street Prep, FMI), and coordinating the industry speaker series.

Tanmehar Singh

Operations & Recruiting

Leads recruitment strategy, operational systems, and club onboarding processes. Primary liaison with the MSA Finance Club to coordinate joint speaker events and ensure no duplication of outreach to industry professionals.

Jana Martin

Faculty Advisor

The academic champion behind the CMC's establishment at UBCO. Jana brought the founding and development team together, provided institutional guidance, and supports the club's alignment with UBCO's academic mission and governance standards.

The CMC opens applications to the broader UBCO student body in Fall 2026. We're recruiting our first full cohort of Analysts and Junior Analysts across the Research and SMIF pillars.
